AGREEMENT BETWEEN SPAIN AND NEW ZEALAND FOR THE EXCHANGE OF PERMITS OF DRIVING
On June 2, the agreement reached by both countries and which has been recently published in the BOE with the Reciprocal Recognition and exchange of the Permits of drive.
Article I:
The Parties mutually recognize the national driving licenses issued by the authorities of the States to those who have legal residence in them, provided that are in force, and in accordance with the clauses that appear below in the present Agreement and its Annexes I and II that constitute an integral part thereof.
Article II:
The holder of a valid and current driving license issued by one of the parties, provided that has the minimum age required by the other State, is the parties, provided that it has the age required by the other State, is authorized to drive temporarily in the territory of this motor vehicles of the categories for which your permit, according to its class, is valid, during the time determined by the national legislation of the State where it is intended to enforce this authorization.
Article III:
After the period indicated in the previous paragraph, the holder of a valid driving license and in force issued by one of the States, who establishes his legal residence in the other State of According to the internal rules of the latter, you can exchange the driving license equivalent to that of the State where you have established your residence in accordance with the equivalence table of Annex I.
All current resident permits may be redeemed up to the date of entry into force of this Agreement. For those issued after Said entry into force will be an essential requirement, in order to proceed with the exchange, that the permits have been issued in the State where the applicant has his legal residence
Article IV:
Passing a theoretical or practical test may be required when there are well-founded reasons to doubt the knowledge or driving skills of the holders of certain permissions.
Article V:
As a prerequisite for carrying out the exchange, in order to verify the authenticity of the conduction, the competent body of one Party may request the competent body of the other Part the corresponding information in accordance with the provisions of ANNEX II
Article VI:
The provisions of this Agreement do not exclude the obligation to carry out the formalities administrative procedures established by the regulations of each State for the exchange of permits driving, such as filling in an application form, presenting a medical certificate or payment of the corresponding rate.
Article VII:
Once the driving license has been obtained from the State of residence, the holder must comply with the regulations of that country. The competent authorities for the exchange of driving licenses are the following:
