NEW MODIFICATION OF THE FOREIGN REGULATION ON RESIDENCE PERMITS FOR STUDY IN PERMITS OF RESIDENCE AND WORK.

Foreigners who are holders of a Residence Card for Studies in Spain can work applying for a Residence and Work Permit.
The Immigration Regulation in its article 42 says in this regard:
Those who have a Stay Authorization for Studies, non-labor practices, training or volunteer service may be authorized to carry out work activities in institutions public or private entities when the employer, as a legitimate subject, submits the request for work authorization and the requirements set forth in article 64, except section 2.b) and section 3.a).

They may also be authorized to carry out activities on their own, as long as they meet the requirements set forth in article 105, except section 2.b) and 3.d).
Said activities must be compatible with carrying out those for which main character was granted authorization to stay.

• Work activity may not exceed 30 hours per week.
• The authorization granted will not have geographical limitations, unless the activity
lucrative coincides with periods in which studies, research, practices are not carried out
employment, or volunteer service.
• The validity of the authorization to work will coincide with the duration of the authorization to
stay. The loss of validity of the stay authorization will be cause for the extinction of the
authorization to work.

“The authorizations to work will be extended if the circumstances persist. that motivated the previous concession, as long as the authorization has been obtained extension of the stay permit.”
